Metal Mama

Metal, meet motherhood; motherhood meet metal. This is where my two loves meet & become one world.

Walker.

17 September 2011

Today, I realized I have one. Mollie, that is. She's walking. She is still holding on to things all the time, but walking. Just about a month until she turns one. I cannot believe my eyes. I can't believe it's been a year; hell what a year.

I've also realize that with Erik; every time that my mother said, "I hope when you have kids of your own they behave just like you," is true, it's happening. I'm wondering if there is more to it at the moment, but I'm trying to put all the pieces together. Then we will talk about the puzzle itself.

Crisp.

16 September 2011

Apple Crisp, or Crisp Apple like the scented candle I gave Rich; this is the time of year when everything is crisp. The cool windy autumnal evenings. Oh I love it. I'm getting better about complaining about the cold. I really do like it, but I get cold so easily. I'm getting better at layering too lol, that's key to living successfully in New England.

Next month Mollie is going to be turning one! I can't believe it. I have learned a few things thus far in seeking out party ideas. Initially I was thrilled that it was right around Halloween (she entered this world on the 19th after 12 or so days of trying to evict her) and knew I had to incorporate this into the party. I wish I had the link for the article, but it was published by a woman with a daughter who also shared the same birth month as Mollie, she immediately advised straying from the obviousness of the celebration of Halloween and to rather embrace the rich colors of the fall season. The reds, oranges, brown, yellow, gold, green, tan, etc. I'm excited actually and all I know is I am serving cider from the crock pot.

I am forever gracious that my fiance and I are FINALLY purchasing our own camera. I've been without for far too long and I cannot wait to visually update many places with the kids cute faces. Nice little rhyme there eh.

Rain, rain, go away, we've had enough of you already.

05 September 2011

That is, really. It's gloomy the whole week. The fair has started and I don't even feel enthused to go this year.

In a positive light I think I'm making some more mom friends, finally. I've started trying to get out more and not just sit here either. I may have found a job. I have to make a call and I have another interview this week.

Dear Santa,

I forgot to mention that I really, really want a VS French lace sling, um, like this one:
